Enxergar fora de si, além do ser cujos olhos capturam a vida cotidiana. A arte permite que a experiência extrapole as convenções da linguagem e do condicionamento ao qual passamos a vida nos submetendo. Essas convenções são importantes para o mais básico da nossa sobrevivência mas, ao mesmo tempo, fecham nossos olhos para a cristalina beleza da vida.
Nas palavras de Aldous Huxley, em As Portas da Percepção: "Sua percepção não se limita àquilo que é biológica ou socialmente útil. Um pouquinho do conhecimento pertencente à Mente Integrada passa pela válvula redutora do cérebro e do ego e penetra em sua consciência. É um conhecimento do significado intrínseco de qualquer ente. Para o artista, [...] os drapejados são hieróglifos vivos que, de maneira peculiarmente expressiva, representam o mistério insondável do puro Ser."

To see outside our selves, beyound the being whose eyes capture the everiday life. Art allow that the experience extrapolate the alnguage conventions and the conditioning we go through our whole lives. Those conventions are important even for the most basic of our survival but, at the same time, they close our eyes to the crystalline beauty of life.
In the words of Aldous Huxley, in The Doors of Perception: "His perception is not limited to what is biologically or socially useful. A little of the knowledge belonging to Mind at Large oozes past the reducing valve of brain and ego, into his consciousness. It is a knowledge of the intrinsic significance of every existent. For the artist, [...] draperies are living hieroglyphs that stand in some peculiarly expressive way for the unfathomable mystery of pure being."
